For anyone who’s always wanted to experience Italy, this 8-day/7-night trip should give you an impressive sampling of what this bel paese has to offer. Where else do you kick off an Italian sojourn but in Rome? The capital city makes a great first impression with its beautiful fountains, lively piazzas, historic landmarks, and ancient ruins. There’s also a charm in its many neighbourhoods, cobblestoned streets, the fact that you can indulge in a gelato any time you want. It sets the tone for what to expect for the rest of your holiday. Cities brimming with medieval architecture like Siena and Tuscany, grand basilicas and in Asisi, Florence, Bologna, and (of course) the Vatican, and piazzas in every town. You’ll also get to stop in the Tuscany wine region of Montepulciano, a hilltop town surrounded by vineyards and known for its local vino nobile (‘noble’ wine). Be sure to make a toast to your trip.
