Terms & Conditions

Most products and services (such as airline tickets) have their own specific governing terms and conditions which shall apply in addition to the Terms and Conditions listed below. A summary of these additional terms and conditions may be available during the purchase process, or in other parts of this site. Questions regarding additional terms and conditions relating to the product or service purchased, not explicitly shown on the site, should be directed to Star Flights Customer Service in writing by e-mail to booking@starflights.com.au

By booking your travel itinerary through Star Flights you are agreeing to the following Terms and Conditions listed below:

The terms “We”, “us” and “our” refers to Star Flights Pty Ltd t/a Star Flights.

Pricing:
All prices are subject to availability and can be withdrawn or varied without notice. The price is only guaranteed when paid in full. Please note that prices quoted are subject to change. Price changes may occur by reason of matters outside our control which increase the cost of the product or service. Such factors include adverse currency fluctuations, fuel surcharges, taxes and airfare increases. Please send an email to booking@starflights.com.au for up to date prices.

Approximate Baggage allowance:
First Class: 40 kg free baggage allowance per person.
Business Class: 30 – 40 kg free baggage allowance per person.
Economy Class: 20 – 30 kg free baggage allowance per person.
For travel to and from the USA, the free baggage allowance is 1-2 pieces per person, 1 piece = 23 kg.
Please check with the consultant for dimension and weight information as detail do vary from carrier to carrier.

Frequent Flyers:
If you are a member of an airline frequent flyer program, please retain your boarding passes and copies of tickets for point verification against your statement. Without these you may be unable to claim points.

Booking Fees:
The following booking fees apply:

Domestic flight bookings will incur a booking fee of $20.00 (plus GST) per passenger per booking which is non-refundable if cancelled by you.

International flight bookings may incur fee of $50 per passenger

Deposit:
Some bookings may require a deposit. Deposit amount will be specified at the time of booking and rest of the payment will be required within the timeframe specified at the time of booking.

Amendment and Cancellation:
Changes/amendments or cancellations will incur a fee of $50.00 per passenger per booking in addition to supplier fees.

Instalment Payment Plan:

There is an establishment fee of $150 and standard card processing fee of 1.5% (incl. GST) per instalment. Plus, maximum amount we can offer per application is $5000 on a maximum 4 month plan.

Instalment Late Payment Fee: $20 will be charged for any delayed payment and if you fail to pay within 5 days from the payment date then we may cancel your booking or earlier if the travel date is within next 10 days.

Instalment Application Cancellation Terms:  Establishment fee of $150 and card processing fee of 1.5% is non-refundable.  If you cancel the installment plan before completing all the payments then we will charge $150 cancellation fee, this is in addition to the establishment fee

You agree to pay any charges associated in cancelling your booking, refer to Amendment and Cancellation charges and Refunds. Booking cancellation charges will be debited from any payment made and remaining balance will be refunded back to you upon receipt from our supplier, such as airline, cruise etc.

Refunds:
We will refund the money in accordance with relevant Airline or suppliers terms and fare rules. Further details in Refund Policy.

Taxes:
Certain taxes are mandatory in various countries. There may also be an additional local tax charged at some airports/ports. All taxes are subject to change without notice.

Payment by credit card:
We accept VISA, MasterCard, American Express and JCB cards. A surcharge of 1.5% will apply to payments made by VISA and MasterCard, 2% to payments made by American Express (Amex)

Before issuing a ticket we will verify genuine purchasers, if in doubt we will contact you to provide supporting documents to prove your authenticity.

Agency:
In our role as a travel agent we sell various travel related products on behalf of numerous airlines/suppliers. Our obligation is to make travel bookings on your behalf and to arrange relevant contracts between you and travel service providers. We have no responsibility for these services nor do we make or give any warranty or representation regarding their standard. All bookings are made on your behalf subject to the terms and conditions and limitations of liability imposed by these service providers. Your legal recourse is against the specific provider and not us. If for any reason, any travel service provider is unable to provide the services for which you have contracted your remedy lies against the provider and not with us.

Passport & Visas:
It is your responsibility to ensure that you have valid passports, visas and re-entry permits which meet the requirements of immigration and other government authorities. Any fines, penalties, payments or expenditures incurred as a result of such documents not meeting the requirements of those authorities will be your sole responsibility. All travellers must have a valid passport for international travel and many countries require at least 6 months validity from the date of return and some countries require a machine-readable passport.

Travel Advice:
For travel advices please contact the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade or visit their website.

Schedule Changes:
It is your responsibility to contact the airline at least 72 hours prior to departure to ensure the scheduled departure time has not changed.

Travel Insurance:
Travel Insurance is strongly recommended. The premium is calculated on the number of days you will be away, however it is important that the policy be taken out when the booking is made, to cover any cancellation penalties that may apply from that time. Carry-on Baggage:
To increase your safety, there are new rules for taking liquids, aerosols and gels on flights into and out of Australia. These new rules are needed to protect you from the threat of liquid explosives. Please visit the following website for more details.

Liability:
We do not accept any liability of whatever nature, whether in contract, tort or otherwise, for the acts, omissions or default, whether negligent or otherwise, of third party providers over whom we have no direct control. Under circumstances where liability cannot be excluded, such liability is limited to the value of the purchased travel arrangements. We do not accept any liability in contract, tort or otherwise for any injury, damage, loss (including consequential loss), delay, additional expense or inconvenience caused directly or indirectly by force majeure or any other event which is beyond our control and which is not preventable by reasonable diligence on our part.

Indemnity:
You indemnify us and our officers, employees and agents against all losses, costs, damages, claims and expenses arising from:

  • Any breach of these Terms & Conditions by you;
  • Any act or omission by you or an officer, employee or agent of you;
  • Any claim, action, demand or proceeding by a third party against us or our officers, employees or agents caused or contributed to by you or an officer, employee or agent of you.

Governing Law:
If any dispute arises in relation to the agreement between you and us, the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia will apply.
