Day 1 Arrive Tokyo
Day 2 Tokyo | Explore Meiji Shrine, Tokyo Tower, Imperial East Garden, and Ginza; free afternoon.
Day 3 Tokyo – Mount Fuji – Hakone – Tokyo | Visit the 5th Station and Hakone Ropeway; take a Lake Ashi cruise.
Day 4 Tokyo | Free day to explore the metropolis; optional visit to Tokyo Disneyland or DisneySea
Day 5 Tokyo – Nagano – Yudanaka | Take the bullet train to Nagano (activate your JR Pass) and transfer to a local train to Yudanaka: visit the popular Snow Monkey Park
Day 6 Yudanaka – Nagano – Matsumoto | free time to explore Nagano until it’s time to take bullet train to Takayama
Day 7 Takayama | Travel by coach to the city famed for its traditional architecture and rich cultural heritage.
Day 8 Takayama – Shirakawago – Kanazawa | stop at the World Heritage Listed Shirakawago; explore at your own pace until it is time to take the coach to Kanazawa
Day 9 Kanazawa | Enjoy the day exploring Kanazawa including Kenrokuen Garden, a gold leaf art experience, and more.
Day 10 Kanazawa – Kyoto | Free morning to explore until it’s time to take the express train
Day 11 Kyoto | Full day tour of Kyoto, visit Nijo Castle, Fushimi Inari Shrine and Kinkakuji Temple; enjoy a traditional local lunch
Day 12 Kyoto – Nara – Kyoto | Free morning; travel to Nara in the afternoon, see Todaji Temple and the friendly bowing deer in the Park
Day 13 Kyoto – Mount Koya | Take an overnight bag as your main luggage is transferred to Osaka. Transfer by train to Shin-Imamiya, then on to Gokurakubashi; take a cable car to Mount Koya
Day 14 Mount Koya – Hiroshima | Transfer back to Gokurakubashi by cable car; head back to Shin Imamiya, then transfer to Shin Osaka station. Take the bullet train to Hiroshima and check in to your hotel.
Day 15 Hiroshima | Free day to explore the city
Day 16 Hiroshima – Osaka | Take a bullet train to Osaka; free day to explore the port city at your own pace
